These innovative balance bikes feature design elements not seen in other balance bikes. The 65 degree seat angle puts more of the rider's weight over the back wheel, providing additional stability and balance even at very low speeds.
The bikes also feature foot pegs that allow a child to place their feet comfortably and safely out of the way while coasting and train the feet to be in the right position for pedaling as they progress to that stage.
Glide Bikes were designed in the U.S. and come in two models. The Mini Glider is the perfect learning bike for kids age 2 - 5. The new 2010 model's minimum seat height of 12" is 2" lower than the previous model. Riders as young as two will feel perfectly comfortable on the Mini Glider and since the seat adjusts to 18.5" with an simple quick-release seat clamp and the handle bars raise 3", the bike will grow with your child. The Mini Glider is one of the lightest bikes we carry at 8 lbs. providing easy maneuverability for even the smallest of kids.
For school age kids, Glide Bikes offers the Go Glider. This sturdy balance bike supports up to 125 lbs. making it a great option for kids age 5-10 who are ready to ditch the training wheels and learn to ride a bike in a way that's fun and productive. Featuring 16" wheels, an adjustable seat height of 17.5" to 23" and weighing in at just 10 lbs, the Go Glider provides the same easy handling as the Mini Glider.
